Patient participation group

The Aims of the Patient Participation Group

Patient Participation Group (PPG) The PPG is a newly formed Group at Chew Medical Practice, its purpose is to engage with patients and help to support you with any issues or problems you may have. It is also to support the Doctors and all the other clinicians and staff within the Practice to ensure good communications between Patients and the Practice.

We hope to liaise with the various Health Promotion Services and help to disseminate information. For example, diabetes and dietary requirements, help and support for new Mums, helping to support long term carers to name just a few. We also want to hear from you about any suggestions of how we may help.

At the moment we are quite a small group and would love to hear from anyone who is interested in joining us, especially those of you who are from all the villages within the catchment area. We hold three monthly meetings which may increase as need.

Chew Medical Practice has a very impressive reputation, we hope to help maintain this and if possible, help to improve the services on offer and explore the possibility of new channels of communication.

Please get in touch, we would love to hear from you. You can email us via BSWICB.chewppg@nhs.net or leave a note in reception.

"Walking with this very friendly group has improved my fitness ,increased my natural history knowledge and there have been some very lively and varied conversations, some making me chuckle, one member had a mouse run up her trouser leg another member gave a lesson on how to sterilise a dishcloth in the microwave"

"I love the walks even when the weather has not been conducive to walking the Salt and Malt cafe has tempted us in. I recommend these walks for anyone who wish to improve their fitness or are lonely"
